CodeIgniter “No input file specified.” error in GoDaddy shared hosting [Solved]

codeigniter

Many programmers are facing “No input file specified.” while hosting a CodeIgniter application in GoDaddy shared server. Even I also faced the same problem last week.

Here is a quick solution to fix the “No input file specified.” error.

Before solving the problem, make sure that you have following configurations in /application/config/config.php file in your application.

$config['index_page'] = “”;
$config['uri_protocol'] = “AUTO“;

Now, in your application’s root folder, change the .htaccess file and put the following lines of code.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/system.*
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?/$1 [L]

Phew, you are done. Your application will start working properly now.
