Any AdSense accounts created through Host partner websites are considered as “Hosted accounts” and are restricted to use AdSense only on their websites.
If AdSense account is associated with an AdSense host partner website, you’ll see their name listed on the Account settings page in your account, in the “Access and authorisation” section, under “Third-party access”.
How to remove the label “Hosted account” from your AdSense account
To upgrade your Hosted AdSense account to Normal AdSense account, you need to submit the name of a website owned by you, where you want to use your AdSense. Then Google will do a review your website for policy compliance. Your AdSense account will be upgraded to normal account and the “Hosted account” label will be permanently removed, if it meets the quality criteria and policy compliance requirements.
To upgrade, you can submit an one-time application form. Follow the steps mentioned below to upgrade:
- Login to your AdSense account
- Click on the Settings Icon (top right) and click on Settings.
- In the “Access and authorisation” section, click on Site authorization
- On the “Show ads on other websites” page that appears, enter the URL of the site where you plan to show ads.
- Click on Submit.
- The website will be submitted to Google for review and you will hear back from them within a few days.
Important: In order for your application to be reviewed, you must place your ad code on one or more web pages at the URL that you entered above, on a page that receives good traffic. Blank ads will be shown until your application is fully approved.
Once your application has been approved, you can place your ad code on any website that you own without any further approvals. If your application is not approved, you will still be able to show ads on host sites and may apply again in the future.
Note: To upgrade to a normal AdSense account, you must own a website.
